FAQ: DX Gotchard Driver Not Reading Cards

Q: The DX Gotchard Driver is not reading the cards and emits an error sound. What should I do?

A: Please check the following three points:

  1. Replace All Three AAA Alkaline Batteries with New Ones
Ensure all three AAA alkaline batteries are replaced with new ones.
Note: The estimated battery life is approximately 120 minutes of continuous play. As batteries drain, their voltage decreases, leading to reduced reading accuracy in the left and right slots. Symptoms of low voltage include:
    • Increased frequency of reading failures during play
    • Reduced reading accuracy on either the left or right slot
    Recommended Batteries:
    • Panasonic Alkaline Battery AAA LR03XJ
    • Panasonic Evolta NEO AAA LR03NJ
    • TOSHIBA Alkaline Battery AAA LR03AN
    • Mitsubishi Electric Alkaline Battery EX AAA LR03EXR
  2. Ensure the Lever is Fully Pressed as per the Instruction Manual
The barcode sensors are located on the outer sides of the left and right slots and read the barcodes on the outer edges of the cards. If the card slot is misaligned, it may not read correctly.
  3. Check the Card Insertion Speed, Angle, and Orientation
Make sure the cards are inserted at the correct speed and angle, and that they are not upside down or reversed. Insert the cards straight into the slot. A video demonstrating the correct card insertion method is available below.
Note: The video contains audio. Please adjust the volume accordingly.
