Updated information for our EU customers about the EU right of withdrawal, our new withdrawal button, and CSTOYS International’s return support process.
Thank you very much for supporting CSTOYS International from Europe and around the world.
We would like to inform our customers in the European Union about an important update related to online shopping and the EU right of withdrawal. Starting from June 19, 2026, online stores selling to EU consumers are expected to provide an easy-to-access electronic withdrawal function, often referred to as a withdrawal button.
This change is connected to Directive (EU) 2023/2673, which updates EU consumer rights rules and introduces a clearer digital method for consumers to exercise their existing right of withdrawal for eligible online purchases.
What Is the EU Right of Withdrawal?
In general, EU consumers who purchase goods online may have the right to withdraw from an eligible purchase within 14 days after receiving the order, without giving a reason. This is often called the “cooling-off period.”
The new withdrawal button requirement does not create a completely new return right. Instead, it gives EU customers a clearer and easier digital way to exercise an existing right.
What CSTOYS International Has Updated
To support this requirement, CSTOYS International has added an EU withdrawal button and withdrawal form to our store.
Our current setup includes:
- A withdrawal button and form for eligible EU withdrawal requests.
- Order number and email address validation to help identify the order.
- An automatic confirmation email after a withdrawal request is submitted.
- Reply-to email set to contact@cstoysjapan.com.
- A Privacy Policy link shown on the withdrawal form.
- Separate review by CSTOYS International before any return instructions or refund processing.
When a withdrawal request is submitted, the customer should receive an automatic confirmation email. This email confirms that we have received the request. NOTE: It does NOT mean that a refund has already been issued or that the return has been fully processed.

CSTOYS International ships from Japan. Because our orders are international shipments, returns may involve international postage, customs procedures, import duties, VAT, carrier handling fees, and other local requirements.
Please do not return any item before receiving return instructions from CSTOYS International.
After we receive your withdrawal request, we will review the order details, shipping status, item type, and applicable rules. If the requirements for a valid withdrawal are met, we will contact you with further instructions.
About Pre-Owned and Collectible Toys for EU Customers
Many items sold by CSTOYS International are pre-owned, used, vintage, collectible, or one-of-a-kind items. These items are sold based on the photos, descriptions, and condition notes shown on each product page.
For EU customers, statutory withdrawal rights may still apply where required by applicable law. However, if a returned item is opened, used, damaged, incomplete, missing parts, altered, or returned in a condition different from how it was delivered, the refund may be reduced where permitted by applicable law.

Return Shipping, VAT, Customs Duties, and Local Fees for EU Customers
Unless otherwise required by applicable law, return shipping costs are generally the customer’s responsibility. For EU orders, import duties, VAT, customs fees, carrier handling fees, brokerage fees, and other third-party charges may also apply depending on the destination country and shipping method.
Unless clearly stated otherwise at checkout or required by applicable law, these import-related charges are generally the customer’s responsibility.
Please check the applicable import rules, VAT requirements, and customs and tax procedures in your country before placing an order or returning an item.
Because CSTOYS International ships from Japan, EU customers should also understand that exercising the right of withdrawal may involve international return shipping from the EU back to Japan. Return shipping costs are generally the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise required by applicable law. Depending on the item value, shipping method, tracking, insurance, and local customs procedures, returning an item internationally may take time and may involve additional costs.
